ACADEMY AWARD ENTRIES
The 2005 Queens International Film Festival has taken over Studio City! The Museum of the Moving Image, Kaufman Astoria Studios and a variety of other unique Astoria venues will be the backdrop for the film event of the year, held November 17-20.
This year’s festival has expanded its scope and will include acclaimed, prize-winning films and filmmakers from around the world, such as: “Paheli” by Amol Palekar, India's entry for Best Foreign Film at the Academy Awards ; J. Michael Seyfert's acclaimed documentary “Bye Bye Havana” ; “Love Lorn” Turkey’s 2006 entry for Best Foreign Film at the Academy Awards; this year’s Greek entry for the Academy Award “Brides” by Pantelis Voulgaris; and the internationally acclaimed documentary “Stalin’s Wife” by Slava Tsukerman.
